在PE管的热熔连接施工中,我们常常会发现焊接完成后接口处会形成一圈凸起的“嘴唇”状结构,这就是通常所说的翻边。许多人对这种现象感到好奇,它究竟是如何产生的呢?其实,翻边的出现与热熔焊接时的材料溢出和工艺特性密切相关。

当进行PE管热熔焊接时,首先需要将两根管子的端口通过加热板加热至熔融状态。PE材料在达到一定温度后会软化、熔融,具备了良好的流动性。此时,将加热板移开,迅速将两管端口对接,并施加一定的轴向压力。在压力的作用下,熔融的PE材料会向接口的外侧和内侧流动。向内侧流动的材料会在接口内部形成融合,确保管道的导通和强度;而向外侧溢出的部分,在冷却后便固化形成了我们所看到的翻边。这就好比挤牙膏时,牙膏会从管口溢出一样,熔融的PE材料在压力作用下也会从管端的结合面溢出。

从工艺特性角度来看,这种翻边的形成在一定程度上是热熔焊接工艺本身所期望的结果,也是判断焊接质量的一个直观参考。适当的翻边表明在焊接过程中,加热温度和对接压力是比较合适的,使得熔融材料有足够的流动性并能在压力下充分融合和溢出。均匀、饱满、无明显缺陷的翻边通常意味着焊接界面熔合良好。如果没有翻边或翻边过小、不均匀,则可能暗示加热不足、压力不够或对接不同心等问题,需要引起重视。
