除了高温导致的物理失效,PE管的防火性能不足也是其在消防系统中应用受限的关键因素。PE管属于易燃材料,在火焰直接作用下会迅速燃烧。燃烧过程中,PE管不仅会产生大量的热量,加剧火势蔓延,还会释放出有毒有害烟气,对人员疏散和消防员的生命安全构成严重威胁。消防系统的管道不仅需要输送灭火用水,在一定程度上也应具备延缓火势蔓延、减少烟气产生的能力,而PE管在这方面显然无法满足要求。

此外,消防系统对管道的结构完整性和耐火时间有特定标准。即使在非直接火焰灼烧的区域,火灾产生的高温环境也可能使PE管的力学性能急剧下降,无法承受系统压力,导致泄漏或爆裂。相比之下,金属管道如镀锌钢管、无缝钢管等,虽然在重量和安装便利性上不及PE管,但具有更高的耐高温性和结构稳定性,能够在火灾中保持更长时间的有效工作状态,从而保障消防系统的可靠性。
